My sister, Susan Temkin Cutler, died of cancer when she was 38 years old

One in three people will face cancer in his or her lifetime, but no one has to face it alone. On Sept. 13, 2009, the participants of the Boston Marathon® Jimmy Fund Walk to benefit Dana-Farber Cancer Institute will change the odds for patients facing all forms of cancer. Please support our efforts by giving generously.

The Walk supports the Jimmy Fund and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. In 2008, Dana-Farber conducted 264,577 pediatric and adult patient visits and infusions and offered more than 735 therapeutic clinical trials. Every day our scientists are pushing towards groundbreaking new discoveries as our compassionate caregivers treat our hopeful patients. Live a little of the miracle that is Dana-Farber. Please turn up your volume and visit jimmyfundwalk.org/presentation to begin.

I started walking with my son several years ago to honor the memory of my sister, Susan Cutler. She was a very active person, full of life. But she lost her battle with cancer when she was only 38.

This year we're also walking in memory of two other people who lost their battles with cancer this past year: Neil Webber, my wife's first cousin; and Iris Plunkett, our nanny for more than 10 years.

Unfortunately, all too many people have been touched by cancer.

Hopefully, all of our collective efforts will put an end to this miserable disease.

Please donate to this very worthwhile cause.

The Jimmy Fund is a 501(c)(3) organization.
